Srujana Hair Transplantation – Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that moves hair follicles from a part of the body called a “donor site” to a bald or baldness of the body, known as a “destination”. It is mainly used to treat male hair loss.

In this minimally invasive procedure, transplants that contain capillary follicles that are genetically resistant to baldness (such as the back of the head) are transplanted to the bald head scalp. Hair transplant can also be used to restore eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hair, breasts, pubic hair, and to supplement scars from accidents or operations such as facelifts and anterior hair transplants.

The capillary transplant is different from the skin transplant because the transplants contain almost the entire epidermis and dermis around the hair follicles and many tiny transplants are transplanted rather than just a skin band.

Since hair grows naturally in groups of 1 to 4 hair, the current techniques reap and distribute the “follicular units” of the hair into their natural groupings. Thus, the modern hair transplant can have a natural appearance by mimicking the original hair orientation.

This hair transplant is called follicle transplantation (FUT). Doner hair can be harvested in two different ways: harvesting tapes and extracting the follicular unit (FUE).
