About BNR Skin Hospitals:
BNR Skin Hospitals – Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that moves hair follicles from a part of the body called a “donor site” to a bald part or baldness of the body known as the “destination site”. It is mainly used to treat male pattern baldness.
In this minimally invasive procedure, grafts containing capillary follicles that are genetically resistant to baldness (such as the back of the head) are transplanted to the bald scalp. Hair transplantation can also be used to restore eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hair, breasts, pubic hair and to supplement scars caused by accidents or surgeries such as facelifts and anterior hair transplants.
Capillary transplantation differs from skin grafting because the grafts contain almost the entire epidermis and dermis surrounding the hair follicle, and many tiny grafts are transplanted rather than just one band of skin.
Since hair grows naturally in groups of 1 to 4 hairs, current techniques harvest and transplant the “follicular units” of the hair into their natural groupings. Thus, the modern hair transplant can have a natural appearance by mimicking the original hair orientation.
This hair transplant is called follicular unit transplant (FUT). Donor hair can be harvested in two different ways: harvesting bands and extracting the follicular unit (FUE).
